What is PLA plastic?
Polyacetic acid, or PLA, is made through the fermentation of plant-based surgars into lactic acid, which is then polymerized into plastic. Unlike traditional petroleum-based plastics, PLA's production process relies on renewable agricultural resources, resulting in a lower carbon footprint. It is compostable under certain conditions and is biodegradable making it a more environmentally friendly choice.
